First grade read Tough Boris by MemFox

We will be making our own version of the book Tough Boris,  substituting a cowboy as our main character instead of a pirate. This lesson will focus on adjectives, creating predictable text while

building details. A copy of the book will be sent to our new friends in Hudson, Ohio (near Cleveland).

Summer Reading Fun!

May11

Summer is fast approaching and although like you, I look forward to the lazy days of summer replacing the harried schedule of the school year, this doesn’t mean we should put our learning aside. Check in with me weekly as I will be encouraging you and challenging you to read all summer long by providing you with some creative ways in which you can engage the whole family.

Here’s the first article.  http://www.readwritethink.org/bright-ideas/

Third Grade Commercials to Air on May 9th

April25

Dear Third Grade Families,

We have been busy here in the Student Center and in our classrooms reading a variety of literature from different genres. To help the students celebrate their reading goals, they have made a book “commercial” to share with you, the audience, in hopes of selling you their favorite books. We will be hosting a premiere to honor our stars on Tuesday, May 9th from 9:00 am to 9:45 am in Mrs. Taylor’s classroom. Look for your private invite to this special showing soon. We hope you will be able to attend! Light refreshments will be served following the presentation.

Warm regards,

Ms. Morris
